Customer Service Representative Intern

June - August 2018 • Greenville, SC

What I liked

I liked being able to improve on my communication , interpersonal, and customer service skills.

What I wish was different

I wish the job had been more interactive with the customers instead of the call center environment.

Advice

I would like to share that if you don't think you can do anything for a customer, just be able to be sympathetic for their issue and be honest.

What I liked

The welcoming energy from my first interview to when I got hired! Everyone is extremely kind and willing to help. They provide you with everything you need and continue to do so throughout your time there.

What I wish was different

Experiencing the internship in person would have been even more awesome but due to COVID I, unfortunately, did not get the chance

Advice

If you're questioning yourself take that leap of faith, this time here is meant to experience and learn. Be open to all possibilities and use your voice.

Marketing Specialist Intern

June - August 2021 • Dallas, TX

What I liked

I absolutely loved all of the people, and care that goes into each person. I had absolutely no experience in the mortgage industry and was concerned that my lack of knowledge would hinder my experience. I was so wrong! With each week that went by we had trainings that helped me become aware of all the inner workings of Caliber and the mortgage industry. Everyone who works here is so knowledgeable and only wants the best for you! I loved working with the wholesale Marketing team, they truly made me feel like I was truly apart of the team, even though I was an intern with no prior experience. It truly helped build my confidence working in the marketing world and this internship was so valuable! Thank you Caliber!

What I wish was different

I wish that it could have been in person! :(

Advice

I would say do not let your lack of mortgage experience hold you back, as I said above I had absolutely no experience and it was a wonderful internship! Don't be afraid to ask questions, everyone only wants you to succeed and help you get the most out of your internship.

Recruiting Intern

January - April 2021 • Coppell, TX

What I liked

Before joining Caliber, I had no knowledge about the mortgage industry and within the 1st week we were able to have more of an insight of how the process of buying a house looks like. After the first week we went straight into our department and was able to have that hands-on experience in recruiting. My coworkers we're always helpful and made me feel like one of them in the team! I also loved that I was able to speak to other departments to have a preview on what others do on a day-to-day, this was a great insight to determine what my future would look like.

What I wish was different

I know we are in a pandemic but I would have loved to have this experience in person.

Advice

Do not be afraid to ask questions and put yourself out there. At the end of the day your goal is to learn as much as you can to carry that on to your next step in your career!

Homeownership Advisor/ Mortgage Loan Advisor

August 2020 • Santa Ana, CA

What I liked

I really enjoy the extensive training process. The company really cares for their employees and wants them to be successful in this industry. No other mortgage company provides this much training for new hires. It is unheard of. They put you through licensing and everything. I really recommend trying it out. I think you'll love it here. You can always use my name as a referral (:

What I wish was different

I wish we were assigned our locations towards the middle of the program, so that those who wanted to relocate were able to prepare.

Advice

Honestly we had so many amazing and famous guest speakers that I was scared to ask questions. I would suggest that you reach out to these people right after their presentation so you can build a relationship with them.
