STEM Career Academy Summer Internship Housing Grant Application

Program overview - 
The STEM Summer Internship Housing Grant funds housing expenses (up to $1500) for students completing summer internships. Special consideration is given to students interning in high cost of living areas. Note: This grant is not help in finding housing - it’s to help pay for housing costs during an internship. Students are responsible for finding own housing.


Eligibility requirements - 
You must be a member of the STEM & Innovation Career Academy, and have been hired for a STEM summer internship, which you will complete before your graduation date.. Special consideration given to students interning in high cost of living areas.


Expectations of grant recipients - 
1) Grant recipients will be asked to complete a reflection form within two weeks of completing the internship. Where possible, students will be expected to include a photo of themselves working during the internship. 
2) Grant recipients will be required to participate in 2 individual coaching appointments with STEM & Innovation Career Coach Andrea Wiseman The first coaching session will take place prior to the internship, and will focus on preparation for the opportunity. The second session will take place no more than one month after the the internship ends, and will focus on next-steps.


Application timeline - 

A) Fall Grant timeline:
- Applications close: 5 pm Friday, November 16, 2018
- Decisions by: Monday, December 3, 2018

B) Spring Grant timeline:
- Applications open: Monday, January 28, 2019 (if you submit an application before January 28, 2019, your application will be considered as part of the Fall grant timeline.
- Applications close: 5 pm Friday, March 22, 2019
- Decisions by: Monday, April 1, 2019
