Engineer VI (Surface Water Quality Assessment Engineer)

This position will serve as a scientific expert and is responsible for creative and innovative applications of advanced scientific, engineering, and mathematical methods for assigned multi-disciplinary programs and projects. The individual will be a leader in the area of fate, transport and effects of contaminants in the aquatic environment. The person in this position originates, tests, and disseminates new assessment techniques regarded as major advances in the field. 

Selective Requirement
Selective Requirements must be met in addition to the job requirements. Applicants who do not possess the selective requirements will not be qualified.
  1. Six months of experience in fate and transport modeling of contaminants in an aquatic environment.
  2. Experience using GPS/GIS software. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Engineer VI
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
  1. Possession of a valid Delaware Professional Engineering License OR Possession of a valid Professional Engineering license issued by a proper authority of a state, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or a province or territory of Canada.
  2. Regionally or nationally recognized as a specialist in a specialty or scientific prominence/recognition such as publications in scientific and trade journals.
  3. At least five years experience Environmental Engineering.
  4. Three years experience in engineering project management which includes planning, scheduling, staffing, coordinating, controlling, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the status of engineering projects.
