Summer Guitar Intensive: COUNSELOR Position @ Peabody Institute

The Peabody Preparatory Summer Guitar Intensive counselor position is available for a current or recently graduated student.
 
Responsibilities: (will include but not limited to)
- Assist with check in Sunday dorm move in on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 12pm-6pm
- Clerical work: assist with morning check in for all participants. Other light clerical work may be necessary.
- Assist specific assigned learning track - counselors will be assigned to either Youth, Pre-professional/Teen or adult track.
-Assist main instructor or instructors during the instructional week as needed—obtain copies of music, provide extra instruction to students if needed, room set up for classes and masterclasses, escort students to various parts of the downtown campus, supervise young students and counselors in training if needed, carry items, accompany students to pop up/off campus locations help supervise with meals.
- Orchestra section leader - For the large ensemble rehearsal, Counselors must have their part fingered, mastered, and at tempo by the first rehearsal. Counselors may need to assist student members of their section with their parts. Counselors must supervise/assist counselors in training with orchestra room setup/cleanup.
- Concert Hall Preparation for Guest Artist Concerts- As a group, counselors will assist guest artist concerts in the following capacities: supervise/assist artists during sound check, work as stage crew, front of house greeter/ushers/manage programs, sell recordings/merchandise.

Requirements:
- Excellent musicianship/guitar skills.
- Some teaching experience of students of all ages.
- Must be organized, punctual, independent and pro-active.
- Must be friendly, patient, have good communication skills as well as the ability to work with various age levels.
- Must be able to demonstrate teamwork with other counselors.
- Must be willing to carry items.
- Must have knowledge or be willing to be trained in stage crew work.
- Attend training meeting on July 17, 2019.
