The company is small (less than 10) yet growing and is thus seeking a machine learning/data science expert who can take a key role in research/trading to compliment strong fundamental research. This is a great role suited to a highly educated candidate (Masters or PhD) with a heavy machine learning background from a different industry looking to break in.
The role will give you amazing exposure to cutting technology and you will work alongside a number of top technologists and researchers in the space. Their office is based in the Financial District in San Francisco. We are small and collaborative, with a great work/life balance. The role will involve building new models and then creating trading strategies - and you will have a significant role in helping the team break out into new asset classes and markets, all the while leveraging of your expertize in the data science field.
Responsibilities for MS / PhD Machine Learning Expert
* Work in a small trading team in researching and trading new financial instruments
* Conduct in depth empirical research
* Manipulate and analyze complex, high volume data
* Use cutting edge statistical machine learning and data science techniques
* Use C/C+, Python and R
* Work directly with senior partners of the firm
* Introduce innovative technologies to the team - experience with cloud computing a big plus
Ideal Skill Set Required
* Ideally a PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related
* Experience with Python, C++, R
* Machine Learning Background
* Experience with equities/futures a BIG plus
* Able to work in a small and collaborative team
