Sequencing Research Associate

Overview:
We are seeking a Research Associate to join our Molecular Engineering group. In this role, you will primarily contribute to the execution and maintenance of our high-throughput sequencing pipeline. In addition, you may perform fluorescent-based screening assays and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new workflows in these areas. The ideal candidate will interact closely with Scientists and other RAs to support sequencing and will participate in the design and implementation of automated workflows.

Your responsibilities:
·        Perform all steps of NGS library generation using a high-throughput automated platform
·        Run and maintain sequencing systems to meet priorities and deadlines
·        Manage and order supplies and maintain equipment to meet company quality standards
·        Compile and analyze data, present results to teams across the company, prepare documentation, and maintain records
·        Develop and implement novel protocols to generate sequencing libraries (e.g. amplicon and RNA-seq libraries)

 You should possess the following:
·        An inquisitive approach to science, a positive attitude, and a desire to work collaboratively with colleagues of diverse professional and cultural backgrounds
·        B.Sc. or equivalent in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Genetics or Molecular Biology
·        Experience in the biotech industry, academic laboratory, or core facility
·        Hands-on experience with preparation of NGS libraries
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

Experience in any of the following areas will be a plus:
·        Experience working with laboratory automation systems
·        RNA-seq library preparation experience
·        Experience running fluorescent cytokine assays
·        Experience with analysis of NGS data
·        M.Sc. or equivalent in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Genetics or Molecular Biology
