YTTI 2021: Mechanical Engineer Intern (Remote)

Esurgi is looking for a motivated and self-driven Mechanical Engineer Intern for Summer 2021. The incumbent will work on a proof of concept study to extract angles related to knee motion from IMUs. The Higher Math Engineer Intern will be in charge of handling higher math equations, matrices, and transformations. Interns will gain in-industry experience and utilize their engineering skills.
 
Job Responsibilities:
·      Develop higher mathematical equations to extract angles from IMUs outputs
·      Coordinate transforms and transformation matrices
·      Work with kinematic chains and quaternions
·      Apply reference frame conventions and 3D coordinate systems to determine relative position and orientation
·      Solve rotation matrices
·      Assist the implementation team providing research and support
·      Work with forwarding/Inverse 3D kinematic concepts in matrix formulations
 
Qualifications:
·      Experience using Arduino or familiar with coding languages
·      Knowledge of Euler angles – quaternion or similar transformation
·      Ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment
·      Self-motivated and detail-oriented
·      Ability to work remotely, independently, and as part of a collaborative team
·      Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills
·      Interest in working with biomedical devices
·      Pursuing or have a degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
