There are many specific skills required for the Excise Tax Specialist position and prior experience is preferred. The Snohomish County Treasurer's office is responsible for billing, collecting, distributing and investing property taxes, special assessments, surface water fees, gambling taxes, excise taxes and miscellaneous receipts. We also account for all funds and deposits of revenue for the State, County, Cities and special purpose taxing districts (e.g. schools and fire, drainage and diking districts). Position purpose:
Provide front line customer service assisting the public with detailed questions about excise tax transactions, as well as responding to a high volume of taxpayer phone calls. Accurately process a high volume of Real Estate Excise Tax Affidavits while simultaneously completing other detailed clerical tasks and balancing your drawer in a timely manner at the end of the day.

To examine, evaluate and process Real Estate Excise Tax Affidavits and collect excise tax.
