Associate Governmental Program Analyst

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing consultative, preparative, and analytical work for the Administration Division, Financial Management Branch, Budget Section.

The Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) serves on a dynamic team within CDPH that is at the forefront of the financial management and resource planning for California's COVID-19 pandemic response. This position serves as a programmatic and budgetary consultant, performing a variety complex analytical work for one or more CDPH divisions or programs. The AGPA conducts research, analysis, and applies appropriate analytical and budgetary methodologies and processes in the overall administration, oversight, control, monitoring, and defense of CDPH programs and budgets. In this high visibility role, the AGPA works closely with CDPH senior management and leadership, briefing executive staff on key issues and providing recommendations for decision-making, as well as defends, justifies, and reports on CDPH programs, budgets, and expenditures to external oversight and control agencies, including the California Health and Human Services Agency, Department of Finance, the State Controller's Office, the Legislative Analyst's Office, and the California State Legislature.
