Peabody Arts in Health Performer - Live@Lunchtime (Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore)

Job Description:
Organized in partnership with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Program in the Arts, Humanities, & Health (PAHH), Live@Lunchtime is a concert series of short, informal musical programs for the enjoyment of the hospital community. Live@Lunchtime will comprise a series of four to five concerts at lunchtime at the Johns Hopkins Hospital featuring Peabody-affiliated ensembles. Performers are asked to prepare 50 minutes of music inclusive of 15-20 minutes of solo repertoire and 25-35 minutes of ensemble music.

Performers will collaborate with the Peabody Arts in Health Fellow and PAHH to design programs aimed to elevate mood and reduce anxiety for those who visit, work, and are cared for at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Musicians will be expected to program appropriately for this diverse audience and to introduce themselves and their music in a warm and engaging manner.

For this year's series, the following ensembles are particularly encouraged to apply:
-Classical guitar duos, trios, and/or quartets with a focus on repertoire from Spain/Latin America (November 3)
-Vocal/instrumental ensembles with holiday music programs (December 16)
-String ensemble (February 15)
-Percussion and jazz ensembles (May 4)

Musicians receive a payment of $250/person per performance.

Current Peabody students and alumni are eligible to apply for this series.

Applications will be evaluated based on:
Artistic excellence as evidenced in work sample
Context-appropriate and varied repertoire as evidenced in proposal and work sample
