I absolutely love this opportunity to learn new skills and apply my knowledge hands-on in real data. I have really enjoyed working with my Principal Investigator on a personal level and I have learned so much in my time here.
What I wish was different
I wish I had access to LinkedIn Learning courses to have more organized instruction on statistical analysis, for I have been learning how to use RStudio by myself.
Advice
Building strong relationships with your professors and teaching assistants is incredibly valuable, because they can introduce incredible opportunities that I otherwise would not have had the connections to. Having a personal recommendation to a job or position establishes your credibility at a higher standard than any impressive resume.

Research intern
May - August 2018 • Baltimore, MD
What I liked
The experience of working in a lab and the exposure to a wide range of research interests. I also enjoyed the ability to be able to have a lot of equipment available.
What I wish was different
There was a research symposium that occurred before the end of the program, and I think that adjusting the timeline of the program to allow us to present at the end of the program would be better.
